Funded Placements for Supervisor Training and Refresher Masterclass

The Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (JCU) is excited to announce the opportunity to offer funded placements for our Full Training package and Masterclass workshops across Australia (our funded places are temporarily available nation-wide until the end of financial year 2025. If you live outside Queensland, please consider applying within this time). We'd like to thank the AAPi and Southern Queensland Rural Health for their continued partnership, and the Department of Health and Aged Care for this opportunity for our regions.

Health Workforce Scholarship Program

If you're an Allied Health Professional, we are partnered with Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) who is offering funded placements through our program: You may wish to consider applying for a grant through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP), administered by the Rural Workforce Agencies in each state and territory. The program provides funding of up to $10,000 per eligible practitioner per financial year for workshops, post-graduate qualifications, short courses, conferences, professional development requirements of the applicant’s professional registration and/or association, recognised industry skills training, travel and accommodation and more. For more information about HWSP grants, including eligibility requirements click here

We are a very supportive program, and are available throughout your time with us to assist you in meeting these requirements.

Bursary Application

We have bursaries available to psychologists who are not able to access paid leave to attend the two day Part 2 workshop or the one day Masterclass workshop. If you’re working for an NGO, not-for-profit, private practice, aboriginal health organisation, or other service that is unable to pay for your time off work, you are eligible to apply for a bursary. We are giving priority to psychologists in MMM3-7 regions, CALD organisations, ACCHO's, and psychologists supporting diversity groups and MMM3-7 regions. If you are a psychologist who belongs to a diversity group you are also encouraged to apply. The value of the bursary is $400 for the one day Masterclass and $800 for the two day Part 2 workshop. We will let you know of the outcome of your application for a bursary within four weeks of your application. Please note that you will be answering some similar questions in your application as the bursary information is stored separately.
